Portland Meadows, October, 1991. Since the car liked to push, push, push, and I didn't have the means at the time to spend $1500 to replace the welded rear end with a limited slip, I build a wing. About 2/3 of the weight of the wing (and any downforce it may have generated) was on the front wheels. It helped, but didn't fully cure the push. Sheila showed up to help me christen the wing; no champaigne needed as Portland weather provided plenty of non-alchoholic liquid.
The wing helped the car lean into the turns. I think it needed that. |
