1973 Elden Formula Ford Frame #63-73 -- Photo Page Six

Clackamas Community College, about June, 1990, after the second engine rebuild (that missing oil galley plug again -- but we found the problem and replaced the plug on this rebuild). I had a radiator made to fit behind the roll bar to replace the ugly hunk of a radiator which was at the back over the transaxle. The new radiator is so small by comparison that it is hard to see in the photos.

Same time, same station. Super Trap muffler, battery mounded atop the transaxle. The engine was not a stock FF 1600; big valves, ported intake and exhaust, four Webers, 3/4 Isky cam. A local FF mechanic estimated it at about 170-175 hp, although we never put it onto a dyno. The Formula Ford starter kept failing, so I bought an adapter and Toyota pickup starter, and that never failed.
